Bespoke Steel and Reclaimed Wood Side Table

I recently finished this commission, a coffee table in industrial style:

The table top is made with old pinewood boards reclaimed from the shelving units that got discarded in a local workshop, slightly sanded to keep most of the original gray paint and stained in a warm, darker tone as per the customer's request.

The made to measure structure is tall and slim; the rather modern look combined with the use of  'raw' square steel tube -I just sealed it with clear varnish and added rubber tips to the legs.

Check the pictures below and the 'Making Of' section for further details.
A media console in industrial style, mixing old pinewood boards reclaimed from a local warehouse, a big sliding drawer -with its original iron handle- taken from a vintage workshop desk and an edgy, modern structure in square steel tube. Measures: 46 x 80cm, 50cm high.

The happy customer sent a picture of the table, looking fine in his living room!

Some pictures taken during the MAKING process: The steel structure made to measure and the planks of reclaimed wood, once cleaned and sanded
Cutting the boards to measure, dry fitting them to the structure.
Staining the wood, and gluing it to the sheet of plywood that made the base of the table top.
Filling the gaps with matching wood putty; and the final steps: light sanding and sealing the whole piece, structure and all, with several coats of clear varnish. The table top got also polished afterwards for a smooth, satin finish.
