Custom Fruit Crate turned into Stool

Just finished this cute commission: the revamping of an old wooden fruit crate. The customer wanted it to just be turned upside-down in order to use it as a stool in her little son's room, and also chose the colour range.

I have cleaned and sanded the wood, then stained the inside in a chocolate brown tone and painted the slats on the outside with the 'dry paint' technique to keep the rustic feel. The piece is also varnished and polished for a smooth, satin finish. Four little white casters complete the stool, making it easy to move.

Measures: 50cm wide, 35cm deep, 35cm high.

THE MAKING OF:

Here on the right, the parts used to make the stool

Sanding after a thorough cleaning, and staining the inside with a self-made tone.
 Painting the outside, varnishing
Polishing the piece and finally, adding the little casters.
