A Bunch of Boxes

SHABBY CHIC WOODEN BOWLS AND ANTIQUE BRONZE
Again, I made some boxes out of wooden bowls -this time the final shape is almost a sphere, and the boxes are topped with antique, rather ornated cast bronze drawer handle holders. I have painted the pinewood in self-made colours, distressed the surfaces, protected them with clear varnish and then polished it all to get a smooth, satin finish.

Measures: 11cm diameter, 14.5cm high

Turquoise and light green
Off-white and light gray
Lime green and dark green

70s TIN AND GLASS BEADS
A vintage box from the 70s, covered in tin sheet, with a rugged decoration plus five emeral green glass beads on the lid. I have done some minor repairs, polished the metal and painted the inside in the same tone as the glass beads.

Measures: 14x 11cm, 5cm high

TEAK AND BRASS APPLIQUÉS
Two lovely boxes in teak that were in almost perfect condition. I have just waxed and polished them, adding also a couple of big brass appliqués taken from a 70s cabinet to spruce up their lids.

Measures: 14.5 x 14.5cm, 7cm high & 17.5x 10cm, 4cm high

SMALL, HAND PAINTED
Two tiny wooden boxes that I have painted in bright contrasting colours, creating a texturised effect. One combines pink and burgundy, the other lime green and yellow. They also sport a couple of vintage drawer pulls on their lids.

Measures: 8cm diameter, 7cm high

HAND CARVED, OFF-WHITE
A lovely vintage box, probably from India, with an intricate hand carved design of flowers and leaves on every side. I have painted it in an off-white tone, then distressed it to highlight the carvings. It is also varnished and polished to get a smooth, satin finish.

Measures: 23x 12.5cm, 6cm high

HAND CARVED, BLUE
A cute box in the shape of a cube with a hand carved design of a flower on its lid. I have painted it in a rich deep blue tone, then distressed it to highlight the carvings. It is also varnished and polished to protect the surfaces and get a smooth, satin finish.

Measures: 10.5x 11cm, 6cm high
