Space Age Table Lamp
Space Age is a small but quite stricking lamp, with a slick combination of polished metal, frosted glass and black clay. And it creates a lovely atmosphere when it's on!
It is made out of the metallic and glass shade from a modern ceiling fixture, turned upside-down, a frosted glass tube to cover the bulb, part of a lamp shade wire, the base of a vintage lamp, a clay bowl and several reused chrome parts, tubes and nuts.
I have added a small toggle switch, black rubber, black bulb socket and cord set to complete the combo.
Measures: 30cm high, shade 20cm diameter, base 13cm diameter.
THE MAKING OF: Here below, the main parts used to make the lamp (before I decided to add the frosted glass tube on)
Polishing the shade and cleaning the glass bit. Cutting the ring out of the lamp shade wire.
Testing the lamp... but then I decided to add a cover for the bulb, and I had to re-design the central part to be able to hold it properly!
