Bucket Pendant Lamp

A big pendant lamp, perfect for a rustic-chic look dinning room. It is made out of a huge galvanized zinc bucket with a couple of cute wooden handles that I painted in a bright red tone, then distressed, varnished and polished.

The red cotton cord is 2 meters long to allow the lamp to be hung at any desired place (which is usually NOT the center part of the ceiling, where the wires always are..), the bulb socket is a chrome one, and I have upcycled an inox filter off an espresso coffee machine to serve as the cup that hides the wiring to match the general look.
The final touch that adds to the rustic feel of the lamp is a yute upholstery strap with the traditional, cute red lines that I have fastened around the 'shade'.

Measures: 35cm diameter, 25cm high. 2 meters long cotton cord.

THE MAKING PROCESS:
The main parts used to make the Bucket Lamp
Painting and distressing the wooden handles,
Varnishing the handles, then drilling a 10mm diameter hole in the former base of the bucket
-plus sanding the hole edges- to be able to fasten the bulb socket (both sides got reinforced with big washers)
Measuring the jute upholstery strap, and fastening it to the bucket
Finally, wiring and testing the lamp. Done!
