I am really busy these days, finishing the renovation of the Showroom -take two (it started with the construction of the counter), plus working on three big pieces of furniture -All at once. I know, I'm nuts. And tired. But also extremely happy!
Posts on all this blissful craziness to follow, for now we have this cute fellow: a functional, well-built wooden high stool. The metallic tab shows the name of a prestigious arts equipment and supplies company from Barcelona, so this was the stool of an artist!
It had seen better days when I got it, though. Blackened by the sunshine and a tad wacky, but full of potential, I thought.
And now, after some good care and a warm, fresh look, it is like new again!
66cm high, seat 30cm diameter.
This is how gloomy the stool looked before:
And here are a few pics taken during its renewal: First, I had to dismantle it to reinforce the structure, then it came the sanding (not shown), and finally the revamping part: dark stain for the legs..
..and several coats of a warm mustard self-made tone for the seat and footrest slats. Slightly stressed surfaces,
plus some aging on the seat, in various layers. After varnishing and polishing the whole piece, finally, the cute tab goes back to its place.
