Woohoo, look what showed up last night! This gang of robots came all at once... but not to worry, despite their fierce looks they are just a gentle, shinny lot. All distinctively different, all with a retro style, all move their arms and open up to serve as a box to keep small treasures!
Here they are, presented to you one by one:
LONG LOUI
The tallest of them all (20cm high), made with a big inox tea ball, a vintage vacuum valve from the early 60s, two 70s chrome drawer pulls and a handful of washers (metal, plastic and rubber ones), screws, hooks and bolts.
BLACK BEN
18cm high, made with a medium-big inox tea ball, a Marconi vintage vacuum valve
from the late 50s, two 80s metallic drawer pulls and a handful of
washers (metal, plastic and rubber ones), screws, hooks and bolts.
SHORT SID
The chubbiest of them all (14cm high and looking rounder due to his short legs), made with a medium-big inox tea ball, a vintage vacuum valve
from the 60s, two 80s plastic drawer pulls and a handful of
washers (metal, plastic and rubber ones -some red), screws, hooks and bolts.
TINY TIM
The one with the smallest body, although he is slightly taller than Short Sid (14.5cm high). Made with a small inox tea ball, a vintage Siemens vacuum valve
from the 60s, two early 70s rigged chrome drawer pulls and a handful of
washers (metal, plastic and rubber ones), screws, hooks and bolts.
RED ROBERT
The second tallest of them all (18cm high), made with a big inox tea ball, a vintage vacuum valve
from the late 50s, two 70s chrome drawer pulls with a black surface and a handful of
washers (metal, black and red plastic and rubber ones), screws, hooks and bolts.
A pic of my work bench, before the marathon of robot-making started... many pieces were changed during the construction -and the two big fellas are still in process, I wasn't happy with some of the details, so they will be the subject of an upcoming post when they are finished, later on!
