A restored lovely pendant light from the beginning of the 20th Century: in addition to the restoration of the milk glass shade and brass brackets I have adapted a vintage brass bulb socket with switch. (
Simón trademark, that started as a small family business in Catalunya, has been on the Spanish market for over a hundred years, with a well earned prestige... the bulb socket only needed a thorough cleaning and polishing to be like new again: it is a pleasure to work with high quality parts!).
The wiring is new, of course. A braided black cotton cord, almos 2 meters long. And the cup is also a vintage bronze part, taken from an old ceiling light fixture.
Measures: 20cm diameter, 10cm high.
The parts, before the restoration:
And some shots taken during the making process: polishing the vintage bulb socket, sanding the tiny chip on the glass shade, and finally wiring the lamp.
