It was built up 'on site' and I'm afraid this leaded to incredibly crappy pictures, as well as scarce. It is a shame, because all the details and colours get lost! I will try to take a few new ones one sunny day when I go visit that flat, but for now you'll need to use plenty of your imagination. Sorry. ->Updated!
So I went to search for a small cabinet that would serve as the base for the tv stand, and found one with the ideal measures. It was terribly ugly, though.. typical 80's plain design, fibreboard covered with dark melamine. Ouch. It needed a BIG makeover!
The transformation went as follows: First, take the doors out. Then turn it upside-down (I have this tendency of turning furniture upside-down.. it gives great results! check for example Frankie Cabinet. In this case it was to be able to fit the glass door), then cover the horrible melamine with a 'warm' shiny water based black paint that suits the decoration of the room.
And add several recycled parts to it: a thick gorgeous pine wood board as the top surface, four stouty wooden legs and two 'floating' pine shelves on one side, plus another thick one inside and a glass door with a wooden handle.
Voilà! An elegant, yet pure in lines and warm piece of furniture is born. For a tv.. or not
