Coffee Table with Forged Iron Structure and Reclaimed Pinewood Top

A coffee table I have recently finished: using a heavy, but very graceful looking vintage structure made by hand in forged iron to which I have adapted a table top made out of thick pinewood boards from the beginning of the 20th Century, reclaimed from a local warehouse.

Check the pictures below and the 'Making Of' section for further details.

Measures: table top is 79 x 43cm, 46cm high.

Pictures taken during the MAKING process: the iron structure and the old pinewood boards... not easy to guess that underneath all that muck there was such lovely grain! --It got uncovered by means of deep sanding.
Cutting the two boards to measure, then joining them with biscuits.
Once the glue was dry, I filled the tiny gaps with matching wood putty. The picture on the right hand side shows the drilling of the slots to secure the table top to the structure.
And the last steps: several coats of clear varnish (plus polishing for a smooth, satin touch -not shown).
