Old Chess Board Frame into Mirror

I got a lovely chess board from the beginning of the 20th Century, with a fantastic frame in solid oak and the paper board protected with a thick glass. My intention was to add some legs and turn it into a little side table, but I knocked it down and the glass broke, tearing the paper board in the process... oh dear.

Still, the best part of the piece was inctact, so I restored the wonderful oak frame to make an elegant mirror! See the detail pictures below (sorry, no pictures of the restoration process! I stripped off the old cracked varnish, treated the wood and filled the gaps with wood putty, then I varnished and polished it to get a smooth, satin touch)
