Manila: Table Lamp
Made with an iron lamp foot from the 50s and a salakót (Philippines traditional wide-brimmed hat made out of rattan), the 'Manila' table lamp is a slim, quite tall piece with a warm Mid-Century feel.
It also features some elegant details, such as the brass light bulb socket with a pull string made out of waxed cotton plus glass beads from India and the black braided cotton light cord.
Measures: shade diameter 45cm, total height 80cm
Some pictures taken during the MAKING OF:
Welding the broken leg in the vintage lamp foot: BIG thanks to Matt Taylor! -and polishing it afterwards
Mounting the pull string for the bulb socket, wiring the lamp -and finally painting the lamp shade wire frame in black, plus attaching it to the hat (here below)
