Dentelle Pendant Lamp
Dentelle -'Lace' in French- is a dainty, yet quite solid pendant lamp made out of an old plant pot cover, turned upside down.
This unusual piece is made of three pieces of ornated cast iron joined with screws, and painted white. Two of the legs had snapped at some point, but this was not a problem once the piece stopped being a flower pot cover and was turned into a lamp!
Now, with the addition of a white bakelite bulb socket, several meters of burgundy cotton cord and a white metallic canopy to match the rest, it's a lamp with an elegant design that looks rather impressive both at day or night!
Measures: 30cm diameter, 36cm high.
MAKING OF: Here on the right, the main parts used to build the lamp (note that I changed the plain plastic canopy for the much nicer metallic one you can see in the pictures above)
Below: Mounting the lamp (I had to take it apart to give it a proper clean, and change the rusty screws for new ones), and -once wired-, testing it: incredible shadows!
