Reclaimed Door into Mirror with Hangers
A stricking piece with a rustic yet elegant look, perfect to be hung in an entrance.
It is made out of a piece of an old narrow door to which I have enhanced the natural distress and chipped paint, then added a mirror in its central part, a couple of double cast iron hooks with wooden knobs, and a carved topping taken from an old bedside table.
The whole piece is varnished and polished to get a smooth, satin finish.
Measures: 63cm high, 50cm wide. The mirror measures 34 x 32cm and the hangers are 20cm high.
THE MAKING OF: Sanding the piece of old door, then varnishing it.
Sanding the hand carved topping and also varnishing it.
Mounting the mirror and attaching the carved top. Then I fastened the hangers and polished the hole piece (not shown).
