Giraffe is a slim, quite elegant table lamp made entirely out of metallic parts in chrome and black.
The base is from a vintage light, its long curved arm can be expanded up to 90cm long and bent from horizontal to vertical position at any desired degree. The shade, made out of a Chinese strainer that suits the modern look of the lamp and casts dramatic shadows when the light is on, rotates and can be adjusted in every angle, making this an extremely versatile lamp!
The long transparent cord, along with black switch and plug, complete the sleek combo.
Measures: base 23cm diameter; shade 20cm diameter and 16cm high; the arm expands from 50 to 90cm long. Cord over 2 meters long.
MAKING OF: Here on the left, the parts used to make the lamp (almost immediately I decided on the transparent cord -much better than the black one!)
Below: drilling the holes to attach the shade and the bulb socket support, sanding the sharp edges
The steps to be able to attach all the pieces... I bent the bulb socket support for the bulb to get a better angle inside the conic shade, and there was a narrow margin to fasten the tiny screws!
Wiring the lamp: bulb socket, plug and switch. Finally, testing the lamp: everything ok!
