Vintage Heater Pendant Lamp

An out of the ordinary, eye-catching pendant lamp made out of an aluminium vintage electric heater in a distressed pale green colour.

See the 'before' picture down below to get an idea of how the piece was put up originally. Basically what I did was to dismantle it, using the foot as the ceiling cup of the lamp, drilling several extra holes to be able to pass the black cotton cord through, and turning the 'head' upside down to become the shade. I also adapted a new black bakelite bulb socket to match the bolts on the sides and finished the top with chrome metallic pieces to add on to the industrial feel and match the inside.

Measures of the shade: 42cm diameter, 23cm high. The cord is 2 meters long, so the lamp can be hung low, or away from the connections on the ceiling.

The vintage electric heater, in its original state -and once I dismantled it
After a thorough cleaning and polishing of the interior side, it came the drilling of the various holes needed for its transformation into a lamp -on the right, polishing the edges of the drilled holes
Then, mounting the parts to fix the bulb socket, and wiring it
The final steps of the assembling -and testing: everything fine!
