Vintage Adjustable 'Pinole' Floor Lamp
Renewed adjustable floor lamp, a vintage design from the 70s by Italian Pinole trademark.
The shade swivels around two axis -the cup itself and the pole-, allowing many different positions. It can also move up and down the pole and get adjusted to the desired height. This, plus the dimmer feature, makes the lamp very versatile: it will work great both when indirect or direct light is needed!
It was originally painted in bright yellow, then spray painted in black, so I have distressed the surfaces to get a nice, industrial contrast between the two layers of paint. The wiring from the 70s was outdated, so I have also replaced it with a complete new set of bakelite bulb socket, cord, plug and dimmer switch, all in black.
Measures: 150cm total height of the pole.
Shade: 18cm diameter, 14cm height.
Base: 22cm diameter.
Cord: 3 meters long.
NOTE: The dimmer switch works best with halogen bulbs, and can also be used with some energy saving lamps.
Some pictures taken during the making process: distressing the surface in the base to let the original yellow coat show; fastening the new bulb socket -and finally wiring the plug and dimmer switch.
