French Gray Farmhouse Table

I have just finished this project, and even though I have achy arms I must say that it's been quite satisfactory! Here you have, the restoration and renewal of a pinewood farmhouse kitchen table from the begining of the 20th Century:

In addition to the general restoration of the whole table, I have stained the surface (and the inside of the huge drawer) in a dark, rich wengué tone, painted the rest in soft French Gray tone, then distressed it to enhance the lovely tapered legs and quality of the wood underneath. The iron cup handle added to the front of the drawer is salvaged from the discarded furniture of a very old hardware store from my neighbourhood that closed down not a long ago (sad!).

Measures: 45 x 75cm, 80cm high

Here, some general views:
And a few close ups:

THE MAKING PROCESS, step by step:

Here on the left, the table before its renovation: such a poorly estate..

Underneath: Sanding -loads of sanding! And more sanding to make the round, rustic edges
Treating the old boards against woodworms... then wrapping it all up for a couple of days
Filling the gap on the surface; and the hole of the missing drawer knob: first, measure the length to cut out of the round lath...
...second, hammer the piece in the gap -then, sand to even the surface. Ta-daa.
Staining the surface and the inside bottom of the drawer
Painting the rest in self-made French Gray enamel paint... several thin coats.
Carefully distressing the surface, here and there -then varnishing it all (not shown, but surely you get the idea..)
Polishing the old cup handle -and the whole table to give it a smooth finish --Done!
