2 Trays out of old tool drawers

I was given an interesting commission: to find a way to keep a large collection of glass shades nicely displayed, in order and easy to reach. What could be better that upcycling an old tool drawer rescued from a dismantled hardware store?
It turned out so well that I couldn't resist making another one out of a similar drawer! Here are the result of both interventions in detail:

BIG TRAY
This was the customized one: the size of the drawer was perfect (32 x 32cm), and the division in the middle helps keeping the glasses in orderly rows.
I cleaned and sanded the original piece, covering the bottom with a lovely, bright yellow handmade paper, painting the inner sides and the base in white, and leaving the wood in the outer sides exposed -but protected with clear satin varnish and polished, of course!. The brass ring pull, ornated in a French style, adds the 'girly' touch that matches the commissioner's taste.

SMALL TRAY
This one measures 31 x15cm, and is also divided in the middle. It would be perfect to keep jewels and other small items at an easy reach but in order. I gave the sad looking original drawer the same treatment as for the former one, and added a cute white wooden knob for the final detail.
