Gino Passato, the Italian robot-chef

Ciao a tutti quanti! Gino Passato, the great neapolitan chef, has joined the Trash Family to delight everyone with the best recipes ever: Italian ones.

Gino is a 25cm high cheerful chap that moves his arms a lot -but, mum is the word, he will keep your little secrets hidden if you ask him! That is what his belly is for: a secret box!

His body is made out of a tin that once had authentic tomatoes from Napoli -a yummy present indeed! (in fact, Gino is the 'thank you' to the lovely bunch of gifters).
And the rest of parts -aside from screws, washers and nuts- are all related to food as well: the base is a small wooden plate (that I tinted white), the legs and arms are spoons and forks, bent and pierced; the filter from an old Italian coffee pot serves as the 'shoulders', the neck and head are made out of knobs for pot lids (metallic and plastic), the big fork is a lovely vintage one from the 60s (another present from the same bunch! aren't hey great?), and the chef hat is a kitchen cabinet knob, also from the 60s.
A few close-ups of Gino's face, with his magnificent wire-spring moustache, astonished eyes (made out of green tagua and tiny black glass beads), impressive hat, red glass bead nose, red string-neckerchief and the sticking out ears -plus a detail of the feet.

And some pictures of the making process:
Choosing the parts: all food-related! Such fun
Piercing the cutlery...
...and bending it -NOT that easy, there were a few casualties! Ehrm
Finally, putting it all together
