Spindle Motor Necklace

An 'Industrial-chic' necklace, 26 cm long.

It is made out of a spindle motor (the part that rotates the platter for the cds in a cd player), that I recovered from a discarded Mac laptop computer.
It is almost 3cm in diameter, and includes materials such as copper, brass, aluminium, magnetic cast iron and plastic. Those are terrible for the environment when they end on a landfill, but they look lovely when reused as jewelry!

The 'techie' pendant is complemented with a lime green glass from India and a riveted bronze nut (such a dainty one that it looks like a bead!)

The string is made with two knotted strands of waxed orange and lime green linen.

Barrel antiqued brass clasp.
