Restored ELMA Coffee Grinder

So cute! 'Elma' are the best known coffee grinder makers of all times in Spain. They are from the Basque Country, and started handcrafting them in 1924... up till now!. They had different models, from the colourful tin ones for the working classes to the more elaborated wooden or ceramic ones.

This wooden coffee grinder dates back to the early 50s, and the iron top used to be painted in pale green, just like the inside of the drawer -I carefully cleaned and polished the metal, as there are still traces of it (sadly not appreciated in the poor pictures). To keep the balance, I have painted the front part of the drawer in the same tone, then distressed it. I have also enhanced the original cherry red colour of the wooden knobs; treated, varnished and polished the whole box. Even cuter!

Measures: 10 x10cm, 18cm high
