Montgolfière -Table Lamp
'Montgolfière' is the French name for a hot-air balloon. And this is what this funny-yet-elegant table lamp looks like!
The base is made from a chrome, three legged fondue stand, that supports a vintage big white milkglass globe. I have used a bulb socket holder from a 70s lamp that resembles the burner, and various other parts from unusual origins: a coffee machine filter (plus its white rubber ring), a metallic button and a chrome embellishment from a pot lid to make the topping for the globe, some black rubber stops and washers, an inox 'stem'...
The bulb socket is white, like the cotton cord, switch and plug, as every part follows the coordinated scheme of chrome, black and white.
44cm high, 25cm at its wider diameter.
Some shots of the making process: the main parts; sanding the drilled hole in the coffee machine filter (for the base); cutting the 'eye' from the metallic button that would go as a topping; wiring and mounting the body of the lamp and wiring the cord set.
