The square shaped base used to be a trophy stand, and the lid was the cover of the motor in a ceiling fan (took a while to dismatle it, but it fitted perfectly, yay!), four brass screws keep it in place on top of the glass shade. The 'finial' is made out of a bronze drawer knob from the late 70s and an old brass embellishment.
Even the bulb socket is a vintage brass one, in mint condition and extra-checked, of course. The cotton cord follows the colour pattern with its mustard tone, and both the plug and the switch are white.
