Fan -Pendant Light

The Fan pendant lamp is not made with light fixtures parts, and still looks like an old industrial model, but with an elegant sheen.. it has been my own personal hommage to those sturdy, practical designs from the first decades of the 20th Century that I find so beautiful!

The metallic shade used to be the back of an industrial fan (it's 40cm diameter), I've painted the inner side white to better reflect the light, polished the outer side to get an 'old mirror' distressed effect, and added a black rubber trimming. The bulb socket is a vintage one (in mint condition) to which I have adapted a long ball chain with a black glass drop at the end. Other parts include an embellishment from a lamp and another one... from a tap!

The transparent cord adds up to the general look (it's 1,4 meters long) and the cup that hides the wire connections is made with an expresso coffee machine filter.

The parts, before their transformation (the fan cover still had the sticker with the trademark and recommended voltage); spray painting the inner side of the future shade;
polishing the outer side of the shade, to get the 'old mirror' effect; adapting the ball chain to the bulb socket (I added a black glass bead in the form of a drop at the end of it);
and finally, mounting all the parts and wiring the lamp
