Wall Jewelry Holder

A pretty wall jewelry holder made out of the back of a chair!

Because, what else to do with a nice chair in fine oak wood, well designed straight lines, nice Classical marquetry and deep green velvet upholstery -but lower part severely broken?

I saved the lovely back, sanded it to get rid of the shiny varnish and gave it a satin finish. Also added a little shelf and a board, cut out of one single piece of wood that had a similar tone and a curved brim; and rounded the piece with four dainty goldtone drawer knobs plus some trimming for underneath the shelf.

Two hooks on the rear part... and here's the second life of a chair! The earrings can easily be displayed dangling from pins fastened to the velvet upholstery, the pegs are perfect for necklaces and bangles, and little items like rings or perfume rest comfortably on the shelf. Nice and practical.

The wall jewelry holder measures 32 x 54cm.
