Mister T. Mug

Mister T. Mug has more to offer than a funny astonished face, he is as useful as his name suggests!

Made out of a mug with a broken handle, his hat (a big inox strainer originally intended to cover a kitchen sink hole, that I modified) can be turned upside-down and hold the tea or tea bag, just as one of those balls we sink in the hot water would do... the hat can also be removed, of course, and then use the mug the 'usual' way.

The making process, apart from modifying the shape of the strainer, involved sanding and giving a smoother shape to the leftover bits of the handle. Also adding the washers, bolts and black glass beads to make the eyes, plus cutting and shaping the plastic tap piece that forms Mr. T.'s impressive moustache.

This item is 'safe' to be used as a mug, the strainer is new and I have protected all the parts in the face (including the eyes and moustache) with a glossy water-based varnish, so it can be washed normally -just avoid violent scrubbing, that's all.
It measures 13cm high -with the hat on-, and the mug has a 8cm diameter.
