Espressa

Shiny, stylized and practical, Espressa owes her good looks to being made entirely out of metallic parts: the bottom half of a recovered espresso coffe machine, a pot for kitchen tools, the inside 'twistable' bar of a spot light and a cover for a kitchen plug-hole; plus screws, washers & other weird bits of which I don't even know the name...

To be able to stand perfectly straight no matter how bent her neck is, it carries inside her belly a granite stone. As I carefully chose one that had similar colours to the whole of the lamp, it is visible if you peek through the holes of the bottom cover! And then -being Espressa a lamp all about details- both the cable, switch and plug are transparent so the wire and other metallic parts can be seen.

It wasn't easy to put all this together, but the result is a cute little lamp that is perfect for reading and that also casts some interesting shadows when it is lit up. Worth it.

(Height -normal position, not completely straightened-: 35cm; diameter of the base & shade: 10cm; height of the shade: 12cm; lenght of the cable: 130cm; weight: less than a kg)
