Upcycled Ice Bucket Stand into Side Table with Iroko Top

I have just finished this elegant side table; it is made out of a vintage white brass ice bucket stand with Art Deco lines and a top cut from a piece of solid Iroko (a large hardwood tree from the west coast of tropical Africa).

Check the pictures below and the 'Making Of' section for further details.

Measures: Table top 47cm diameter, table height 55cm.

Some pictures taken during the MAKING process: the main materials used to build the table -a vintage ice bucket stand and a slab of raw Iroko hardwood.
Polishing the metal and cutting the wood top.
A thorough sanding of the wood surface, plus rounding the edges and filling some minor gaps with wood putty in a matching tone.
I drilled holes in the middle of the wood surface so the screw and the stand pole would slot in. The final steps included several coats of teak oil and clear varnish to seal the surface. I also polished it, for a smooth and satin touch.
