Coffe Table with Reclaimed Wood and Steel

And yet another nice commission! A small coffe table with a simple steel structure that is full of personality due to the reclaimed boards used for the surfaces.
They are taken from the counter of a local workshop that closed some time ago, in solid pinewood and dating from the first decades of the 20th Century. The stamp of the place is still visible, check the detail pictures below -and the 'making of' section for further details.

Measures: 70 x 43cm, 32cm high.

Some pictures taken during the MAKING OF:
Preparing the pinewood boards: sanding, trimming and reinforcing some bits that were a little loose.

Scrapping the underside of the top surface to get rid of the rests of old glue as much as possible (at some point it had a dreadful sheet of formica stuck to it) - filling the gaps on both top surfaces with wood putty.
Finishing stages: varnishing and polishing...
...and fixing the surfaces to the steel frame.
