This was an 'emergency commission': a professional stand and events designer needed 6 vintage high stools to be spruced up to match the industrial look of his stand. He came to the workshop in the afternoon... and the exhibition started the very next morning!
Due to the haste there are almost no pictures of the finished stools or the making process, sorry about that!
I took off the hideous covers, sanded the plywood seats -completely for two of the stools, partially for the rest-, then applied several coats of dark stain to get a distressed look with a time patina.
The steel tube structures were spray painted in matte anthracite gray. It was certainly an intense task, but loads of fun!
