Tōrō (Japanese Lantern) Table Lamp

A table lamp made using the iron base of an old fondue set, turned upside-down, a gorgeous vintage milk glass shade with amber nuances, some brass lamp parts spray painted in matte black to match the base and cotton cord in mustard yellow to complement the glass shade.

The result is a very elegant piece that resembles a traditional Japanese stone lantern (called 'Tōrō'). It looks fabulous when the light is off and it casts a warm, soft glow when it is on. Check the pictures below for further details!

Measures: shade diameter 18cm, total height of the lamp 32cm.

Some pictures taken during the making process: on the left, the main parts used to build the lamp. On the right, drilling on the iron base that would support the light bulb socket.
Sanding the edges of the hole just drilled; joining the base to the fondue legs
Finally, wiring the lamp.
