Shanghai Table Lamp

The customer that bought Manila table lamp asked if I could make a reasonably similar one to put on his second bedside table.

So I digged in my stash and used this traditional Chinese straw hat, plus a hardwood industrial mould from the beginning of the 20th Century, a brass pipe from a vintage lamp and various other parts -the Shangai table lamp also features a

Some pictures taken during the MAKING OF:
The main parts used to build the lamp, changing the string of the bulb socket switch
Drilling the hardwood mould to attach the pipe and to let the cord set out through the base of the lamp
And finally, wiring the lamp (also, not shown, I cleaned and varnished the old hat, plus painted the wires of the shade holder with black enamel paint to match the rest of the piece)
