Coffee Table with Reclaimed Beams and 3 Drawers

Remember the coffee table with reclaimed beams from some time ago? Well, 1Unik's collaborator Matt Taylor has just delivered an even better one!

This gorgeous piece follows the same three-parts-structure as the previous one: an impressive table top made out of reclaimed beams in solid pinewood, with the original layers of paint partially stripped off, rounded edges and protected with several coats of polished clear varnish.
The body of the table is a pallet structure, to which he has adapted three fully restored drawers that were taken from a local hardware store that sadly closed down after being in business since the end of the 19th Century. And four industrial casters complete the sturdy, yet elegant design.

Measures: table top 87 x 64cm, height 39cm

Some pictures taken during the MAKING OF process: here on the right, the main elements used for the body of the table

Below, the complex construction of the structure for the three drawers, and the old beams that would become the table top
The table top, done! (note that at this point Matt was still deciding on which kind of wheels to use in the design). And one of the final steps: engraving of the brand and the artist's name, as it should be in every handcrafted piece.
