A gorgeous high stool from the first decades of the 20th Century, in solid pinewood and still quite sturdy despite its height (1 meter!).
I stripped off the dull dark brown paint that covered both the legs and steel foot rest ring, treated the pine against wood worms, filled the little holes with wood putty, polished the metal, stained the seat with a dark tone and finally varnished the structure, then polished the whole pice to get a smooth, satin touch.
Measures: seat diameter 24cm, height 100cm. It's so tall, it can also be used as a plant stand!
Here on the right, the stool prior its restoration.
On the right, a picture taken during the works: stripping off the old brown paint
