Squid Pendant Lamps

Some of you may remember the Medusa pendant lamp from a while ago -well, here is a pair that follows the same line!

Made with two vintage lamp shades with a tulip shape, in frosted glass with floral engravings and tinted ombré brim in soft grades of pink.

The shades are attached to the burgundy cotton cord through a screw that can be loosen in order to change the bulb.

The top of the pendant lamps is a combination of vintage chrome lamp parts, the bulb sockets are new, also chrome, and the canopy is made out of custard molds to match the ruffled brims of the shades below.

Excuse the poor quality of the pictures! I hope they serve, at least, to give you an idea of how these dainty lamps turned out.

Measures: shades are 20cm high, widest diameter 12cm. The cord is over 1.5 meters long, so the Squid pendant lamps can be hung low and/or away from the ceiling connections.

THE MAKING OF: Here below, the main parts used in the design of the lamps (you can see that I had planned the usual white plastic canopies, I changed my mind later on -certainly for the good!)
After drilling the holes in the custard molds, here I softened the edges. An additional white rubber ring (see the detailed pictures above) would protect the cord further. Assembling the parts that go on top of the glass shades.
Once everything assembled, wiring the lamps.
