Brut table lamp is a delicate piece with a stylised base made out of a cava bottle ('brut' is engraved in the bottom) and a shade made out of an old Indian tin food cover with a lovely handle and embellishment of looped ball chains plus green crystal and glass beads all around the brim.
The bulb socket is a vintage one (restored and double-checked) with porcelain ring and ball chain switch. I have also added glass beads to it.
The cord is transparent to match the whimsical - industrial combo.
Measures: 55cm high, shade 38cm diameter.
Here below, the main parts used to make the lamp. On the right, polishing the recycled lamp shade ring
Hole drilled in the cava bottle, and mounting the bulb socket to the metallic surface that would support the shade ring
Once the shade ring was already in place, wiring the lamp -connections for the plug.
Mounting the glass drop bead for the switch -drilling quite a few holes into the brim of the future shade
Making the decorations for the shade 'courtain' -once the final design for it was decided
Testing the lamp: passed! And, finally, attaching the tin food cover to the shade ring (had to cut a teeny weeny bit off it so it would fit!) and mounting the strings of ball chain plus the glass bead pendants all around.
