This project is a fresh approach to 'designy' Midcentury Modern coffee tables. Both practical and nice looking, with a minimalistic structure but also the added twist of colour and surface treatment.
It is made out of a vintage wooden surface with a Melamine cover in cherry red and the legs of a pinewood swivel stool, painted in a light off-white tone and slightly distressed to highlight the edges.
Measures: 65cm diameter, 45cm high.
The parts, before their transformation (the old swivel stool, already dismantled)
First of all, a good sanding of all the wooden surfaces
Then, treatment against woodworms -and cutting the legs of the stool to shorten the heigth of the future table
Painting with the self made off-white tone
Distressing the surfaces
Varnishing... and finally, fastening the top surface to the stool legs
