Idea Table Lamp

Finished this one a couple of weeks ago, but only now I could make up some time to edit and write the post, it's been such a busy beginning of Summer at the workshop!

The Idea table lamp has an elegant-yet-quirky, minimal industrial feel, and it will surely stand out as a conversation piece in any room.

It is made out of a big milk glass shade in the shape of a drop from the late 70s, an inox lid, a salvaged brake disk and three old porcelain insulators among other various parts (like nuts, bolts, washers...). The transparent cord set and white bakelite bulb socket are new, and chosen to match the general look of the lamp.

Measures: 32cm high, base diameter 13cm, white opaline glass sade diameter at its widest point 17cm.

Some pictures taken during the making process: cleaning the salvaged parts,
Drilling the hole in the inox lid, then polishing the edges,
Mounting the bulb socket pipe and the porcelain insulators that would make the legs,
Fastening the legs with nice cap nuts -and, finally, wiring the lamp.
