Aqua-White Bedside Table

A bright, happy little cabinet that can be used as night stand or side table. It's the combination of a bedside table and the door from a kitchen cabinet of the late 50s. It measures 33 x 27cm, 61cm high.

The door had the typical, really nice aqua green colour that was used for virtually all the kitchen cabinets of that time, and it was the inspiration for the finish of the whole piece. I just sanded the front to increase the distressing and create a finish that looks like a modern abstract painting, protected it with high gloss clear varnish and added an old white porcelain knob.
The original bedside table with classic lines was in a good condition but was missing the top drawer and the door, and had a horrid faded purple colour with nasty green neon spirals on the sides. I decided to paint it white, with the top, sides and the added shelf inside in different turquoise tones, to match the vintage door.
A picture of the parts, before their transformation -And some others taken during the making process: scraping and cleaning the salvaged porcelain knob, sanding the cabinet door, painting the bedside table, and varnishing the door (the almost finished cabinet can also be seen at the back, with the shelf placed and some turquoise parts already painted)

    The aqua paint looking nice on the bedside table with the white shade combination, the knob should be clean to avoid rusting which would help it to stay longer. Nice job done.

    (I suppouse it's an impression given by the poor quality pic, or maybe because they're vintage parts, but I did clean both the porcelain knob and the metallic ring used as an embellishment)
