Cabinet Door Tray

This elegant, deep green tray once was an old cabinet door... properly treated and with the addition of a pair of stricking brass handles (that also belonged to a cabinet a looong time ago), now is perfect for serving snacks, laying the jewels and brushes on the vanity or displaying some decor...

Two close ups of the incredibly handsome handles: a pair of antique ornated cast bronze ones from the late 19th Century.
A couple of pictures of the making process: once the cabinet door was sanded and painted, I distressed it with fine-gauge sand paper. Then I diluted dark water based varnish and applied it with a sponge, both to get a tarnished effect and protect the surface.

The upcycled tray measures 33cm x 45cm.
