This astronaut box is made out of a vintage pocket torch. I kept the bright red tin cover and took away the -now useless- inside connections.
I also replaced the small bulb with an aluminium disc, on which I've glued some washers, a bolt, half a bearing ball for the nose, and a tiny wire plus the laser part from a computer cd reader to make the visor and microphone.
The rest of the space suit is suggested with more washers and various other electronic parts, mainly recovered from a dismantled Mac laptop computer.
Major Tom measures 7x12x3.5 cm, and is now a cute, useful box to keep the keys, coins or other small treasures.
