Happy 4 to Leo!

Amazing how time flies by.... now the baby is all growned up and he is learning the letters! So this year's handmade birthday present will be a poster with the alphabet.
Well, easy at it may seem, it turned out to be tough: The pictures linked to each letter had to describe the same concept in both Spanish and French, the two languages the kid speaks every day... also I tried to show more than just one image per letter, although that was not possible with all 26 of them, and make the whole list of letters and figures form a single picture.

In case you want to know, the list goes like this: A for 'bee on a plane', B for 'whale', C for 'pig', D for 'dinosaur in a doughnut-baloon', E for 'elephant with a star', F for 'flowers and strawberries', G for 'giraffe with glasses', H for 'helicopter', I for 'iguana in an igloo', J for 'toys', K & L for 'koala reading a book', M for 'marmot with a pot of honey', N for 'clouds', O for the names of my pets: Olga and Óscar, P for 'penguin with trousers', Q for 'quetzal', R for 'red rhinoceros', S for 'the sun drinking a sorbet', T for 'tortoise playing a trumpet', U for 'unicorn', V for 'violet cow', W for his hero Winnie the Pooh, who is playing the 'xilophone', Y for 'yak eating a yogurt' and Z for the 'zig-zag' in the car Leo is driving...... only letter 'g' does not follow the bilingual rules completely, as it is a 'giraffe' (in French, the Spanish word is 'jirafa') with 'gafas' (in Spanish, the French word is 'lunettes').


I used pencil to sketch the lines, brown ink for the outline of the pictures and dark brown ink for the letters, then watercolour and crayons to colour the poster. The size is 75x50 cm...
