This designy looking coffee table is the result of combining a reclaimed solid pinewood top with the black steel legs of a desk armchair from the 70s. Not only it does look good, but it also swivels and the height can be adjusted from 'put-your-feet-up' to 'dinning-in-front-of-the-tv' modes... very convenient!
Check the pictures below and the 'makig of' section for further details.
Measures: Diameter of the top surface 70cm. The heigth of the table can be adjusted from 40cm to 53cm.
Some pictures taken during the MAKING process: sanding and rounding the edges of the reclaimed pinewood top, then applying a white wash to the surface.
Distressing the surface and filling the cracks with wood putty (they were tiny and only noticed them at this stage!) -I sanded again afterwards, then sealed it all with several coats of clear varnish. I also polised the surface for a smooth, satin finish.
Attaching the surface to a reinforcement board underneath, and the leg of the vintage desk chair. Done!
