I have just finished this pair of funky chairs, they used to be a couple of dull vintage kitchen chairs, with a lovely structure in black iron but boring veneer on both the seats and back rests, so I used the 'découpage' technique to spruce their looks up.
The seats sport a groovy patching of fashion ads from the 60s and 70s, and the back rests are now bright red. Fresh! Check the pictures below and the 'Making Of' section for further details.
Measures: seats 32 x 32,5cm, height 42cm; back rests 31 x 16cm, height 77cm.
A few pictures taken during the MAKING process: the chairs, prior their transformation. Cutting the paperthat would cover the seats to measure.
Gluing the paper to the seats, then sealing with a couple of coats of clear varnish.
Découpage also for the back rests, on both sides. Re-attaching the back rests to the structure.
