Fan-Dango is a funky table lamp made with a fan cover, a foot from a 60s kitchen appliance, a vintage amber glass shade, a hand-blown amber glass bauble, the metallic top part of an ashtray and several other bits and bobs (chrome parts from vintage lamps, white rubber trim, a tap cover...). Fully coordinated in white, amber and chrome colours, even the mustard toned cotton cord and white plug or bulb socket with switch match!
Reminiscent of the crazy 'pop' designs,
the unusual mix of shapes, textures and colours makes it a rather original and fresh piece -pun totally intended!- that casts psychedelic shadows when it's lit on.
Measures: 44cm at its widest point (the fan cover top), 50cm high.
The parts, before the mounting starts -there are more than the ones I ended up using, because I found difficult to find a balanced 'finial' to this particular design, so I tried on different options...
Below: drilling/sanding the hole on the base for the cord, and smoothing the edges; a shot during the wiring
