Wall Hangers Galore

Varied in shape, finish and colour, here are five cute and useful wall hangers to cheer up those spaces in need of hanging storage. Suitable for entrances, bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms...

TWO WOOD AND PORCELAIN WALL HANGERS
Made out of two pieces of a discarded pallet board, varnished in a wengue colour and polished, with a nice contrast between the rough shape of the wood and the dainty porcelain drawer knobs.
One is 40cm long and sports three vintage drawer pulls from India, in a soft creamy colour and with brass threads. Two are round and the other one has a flower shape
The other one is 50cm long, and has four white porcelain pulls with bronze escutcheons: two antique ones, recovered from a 19th Century window and restored, a vintage round one and
a vintage one from India with a flowery shape and a brass thread.

VINTAGE WALL HANGER
70cm long, this restored wall hanger from the begining of the 20th Century has 7 cast iron hooks and I've carefully distressed the surface to reveal the different layers of paint that were applied through the years, creating an interesting pattern of soft tones of green and white. It is protected with a coat of clear varnish and now it's fit to last another hundred years!

TWO ROUND MOULDING WALL HANGERS
Made out of two rosette wood mouldings recovered from old cabinet doors (16cm diameter), and two vintage metallic hooks with the shape of an inverted spoon. I have painted one of the mouldings in light green and the other one in a rich turquoise tone, then distressed the surface to reveal the dark wood underneath and highlight the carvings. They are varnished with a shiny, clear finish for protection and to make the colour contrast stand out.

And to finish with, a few shots of the making process of the two wooden wall hangers with porcelain knobs:
The rough pallet boards, cut and sanded; varnishing with wengue colour -then I polished the surface to smooth it-; scraping the paint off the antique porcelain knobs (a hard, delicate job!); and cutting the end of the screws in the back of the wall hangers
