Turquoise & Brown Upcycled Tool Box

It once was a sad, stained thing -but well built (ah, those careful wood workers from the beggining of the 20th Century!) and with soft rounded edges: I liked the shape and even the splashes, and thought it was full of potential.
So now it's a cute, cheerful and very useful wooden box, with the perfect size to keep a sewing kit, drawing or crafting materials, love letters... you name it!
Some general views and close ups -with a detail on the lovely turquoise Indian glass bead that serves as dainty knob.
I've varnished the outside with a water based, clear and very shiny varnish, to make the original splashes stand out and to protect the surface. I love the lacquer effect!

The old tool box, previous its transformation:
I like to make my own colours: here, mixing different shades of aqua blue with a nice creamy white to get the rich light turquoise tone... painting was next
This upcycled tool box measures 30 x 20 x 10cm.
