Voilà the pair of vintage rustic candle holders... that are reversible as well!
The ruby red 70s glasses on top hold thin and medium candles, while the glass lids on both bases, once the candle holders are turned upside-down, are prefect for wider ones.
The posts are made out of a pair of legs recovered from a very old cabinet (late 19th century), that I carefully restored -treating the wood, accentuating the traces of red paint they already had, filling in the gaps with similar wood, and finally applying several coats of clear satin water-based varnish. Now the different shades of colour and age stand out, plus they are well protected.
The bases are two lids from a vintage pair of the famous 'Le Parfait' canning jars. The lovely logo can still be seen -backwards, as it's on the side that's glued to the wood.
And, crowning the candleholders there are a couple of gorgeous vintage glasses in flawless condition, of a classic 70s design by Cristal D'Arques/Durand: the Cavalier pattern.
The Cavalier pattern has a deep ruby red long bowl which is supported by a clear stem and rounded foot. The underside is impressed with 'France'.
