Revamped shelving unit: Before and After

I have had this piece of furniture for quite a long time... I found it on the street and always liked its stouty shape, nice hard wood and rounded corners. But it looked boring.

So, when a few days ago I (also) found a door with glass in perfect condition, brought it home and saw that it fitted almost perfectly with my old shelving unit, I HAD to make them join forever. Several coats of white paint, a couple of hinches, a nice pine wood shelf resting on two wooden handles -Ikea- plus another piece for the bottom of the unit and a matching wooden door knob: Voilà! From boring to cute, me thinks.

Total cost: 0 Eur
(I already had all the pieces I used, and -except for the hinches and paint- they were provided by the generous streets of Barcelona. Man, I do love to go hunting for treasures on the kerb!)
